Shillong Archdiocese, comprises the following districts of Meghalaya: East Khasi Hills
and Ri Bhoi. Languages spoken are Khasi, Pnar, Hindi, English, Assamese, Garo, Karbi, Tiwa and Nepali. Christianity is the dominant religion in the city.
A sizeable proportion of the population follow the original Khasi religion. Other religions found in India are also represented in significant numbers in the city.
